❧Baldur’s Gate
Highsun, 9 Kythorn
We finally arrived at Baldur’s Gate in one piece, and our first stop was Smith’s Ink to meet with John Smith. Turns out, his gig is making flyers and notices, including bounty hunting notices. Sildar’s message to him is all about printing flyers to warn folks about the Cult of the Dragon. We’re set to pick up 10 flyers in the morning.
With a bit of time on our hands, we did what any sensible group would do—we headed to the tavern! Well, most of us did. Lhel, predictably, went off to meditate. The rest of us enjoyed a hearty meal and gathered some info. I tell you, after 5 days on that boat, I was more than ready for some good food! And a little ale never hurts when you’re trying to get folks talking.
We did manage to pick up a few tidbits from the locals:
- The bartender was pretty scared, saying the cult is crazy enough to burn down his place just for mentioning their name
- On the other hand, the constable seemed less bothered, mentioning something about the cult worshipping some undead dragon. As long as they’re not trying to bring back the Draco Lich, he doesn’t seem too fussed about their activities.
❧Smith Ink
Morning, 10 Kythorn
Oh, the drama! We finally reached Smith’s Ink, only to discover that our flyers had been pinched! Can you believe it? All John could recall was that the culprit was an elf dressed to the nines. But there was a silver lining—he left us a card. It read:
I don’t know how important it is, but when we flipped the card over, there was no name or anything, just a symbol of a golden harp.
Okay, so I guess we’re going to Greenest. None of us have any idea where that is, so we went over to the Cartography shop and picked up a regional map for 50gp. After looking over the map, the plan is to take the Coastway to Beregost where we’ll take the Uldon Trail south of the Forest of Sharp Teeth.
