ā§Sleep Assassins
Afternoon
As the sun continued its trek across the sky, we mustered the energy for further exploration of this vast swamp castle. T-Bone, ever the sharp thinker, noted that every creature we’d encountered here seemed to be nocturnal. Nocturnal means they sleep all day and stay up all night. Ain’t I just a font of knowledge? Anyway, with the sun still a ways from setting, we reckoned we had a good few hours to poke around.
It has to be said that while my armor’s a lifesaver in the thick of a brawl, by the gods, is it loud! One of the crew tossed out the idea of finding a spell or somethin’ to muffle the noise. Maybe one day I’ll be as sneaky as them rogue-types.
T-Bone cleared the altar room while Kalama listened at a door she found near the storeroom. She thought she heard something, so I went over to listen too, and sure enough, there was snoring coming from inside. Couldn’t tell what kind of creatures they were, but there were definitely multiple somethings sleeping in there.
We was whispering about what to do next when Lhel got tired of waiting on us and decided to take matters into his own hands. Before we knew it, he’d snuck into the room and taken out two of the sleepers without making a peep. He even managed to finish off the third before the last one woke up. Now that they was dead, we finally got a good look at them and it was 4 of them dragonclaw cultists. We tossed those bodies into the portable hole with the others before stripping their weapons and armor and poking around the room for anything worth taking.
We left the chapel and stumbled upon a door to the right side. There was some sound coming from behind it, but none of us had a clue what it was. Lhel, always eager to get things moving, barged right in and found 10 lizardfolk snoozing in one room and another 16 in the next.
A couple of lizardmen were off to the side, playing a game of dice. Maybe they was supposed to be the guards? If so, they were doing a pretty lousy job of it.
With so many of them sound asleep and struggling to wake, we managed to take ’em all out without too much fuss. The whole time, I tried to reason with the lizardmen, offering them a chance to surrender and live. But they refused to respond and just ignored me.
