❧Greenest Keep
An hour to Midnight
After we caught our breaths from the church rescue, we agree to go save the Mill next. As luck would have it, we were attacked by 3 kobolds along the way. This time, we at least remembered to capture one of them. We tied him up, gagged him, and hauled him off back to the keep.
❧Mill
midnight
When we finally got to the mill, we paused a beat to out our next move. There was about 8 cultists milling around, no pun intended. We decided to pull the same trick we used at the church, pretending to be cultists who were ambushed.
Kalama, Lhel, and I acted like we were attacked, leading 5 of the cultists away. Kalama took them back to where we’d dealt with the kobolds earlier, spinning a tale about adventurers attacking us. She pointed them in the wrong direction, away from the keep tunnel. One of the cultists seemed to be the leader, ordering another one called Delmar to “tell the Boss.”
While that was happening, T-Bone sneaked into the mill and triggered the fire suppression system. He not only put out the fire but also made sure the flour wasn’t getting soaked. He calculated that we had to shut off the water within 12 hours to save the flour. Smart move; he also locked the door behind him.
Meanwhile, Lhel took care of 2 of the remaining cultists. The third one ran off, which was a shame. When Kalama returned with the others, they weren’t falling for it and attacked us. We managed to capture the leader and another one, stripped them of their robes, tied them up, and gagged them.
Just then, Delmar showed up with more cultists. We convinced him that our captives were actually adventurers. He ordered us to take them to Mondoth for questioning. We told him the rest of the adventurers had fled toward the mill, then hurried back to the keep tunnel.
❧Keep
To my horror, when we arrived back at the keep, we found Escobert trying to torture information out of the kobold we dropped off earlier. One of the guards told us that Escobert hates Kobolds because they killed his family. The kobold only knew that the cult needed treasure. I couldn’t take it anymore and killed the kobold to end the torture. Escobert turned his attention to our human captives.
The cultist that we’d thought of as being “in charge” was named Tim. Having seen what happened to the kobold, Tim didn’t take much convincing to tell us everything he knew. Sadly, he didn’t know all that much. He didn’t even know why the cult picked Greenest to raid. He did know Mondoth. He told us Mondoth was a small woman in purple robes carrying a staff. As far as anyone knew, she was the one in charge and could speak to Dragons!
Escobert told us that he knew Mondoth. Apparently, she’s a mage. Nighthill pitched in and mentioned that she blew up the sally port. We raced up the stairs to see what was happening next.

We could clearly hear Mondoth yell, “Lennithon, the time is now! Attack this keep and finish this!”
The dragon circled the keep and nothing we threw at it seemed to have any real impact. To be honest, the dragon seemed kind of bored. After a while, he just left. It was weird, but we were all incredibly relieved.
After the dragon left, a large blue Dragonborn strode to the front of the raiders. We noticed that the cultists were starting to leave at this point. I guess they’d gotten what they wanted. Anyway, the Dragonborn announced an offer of one on one combat in exchange for the release of their prisoners. Yes, I’m an idiot and took him up on the offer.
Suffice it to say, I’m still alive, but I wonder if he was playing with me. During our duel, the cultists left en masse. Eventually, he conceded the fight and told me that his name was Cyanwrath. He then left with the rest of the army and I returned to the keep amid cheers from the Greenest soldiers.
