❧Greenest Keep

Morning

The first thing we did the morning after the cultist raid was to remind Nighthill to turn off the water at the Mill before the flour gets wet! After he sent someone to take care of that, he offered to hire us to track down some information about the cult. He wanted to know:

  • Who are they?
  • Who is the leader?
  • How many of them are there?
  • What is their next target?

The proffered 250gp each was a pretty good incentive. Although to be fair, we were probably going to do all of that anyway. He also gave us 6 greater heal potions, which we handed to Kalama for safekeeping. We’d used up the last of our healing potions the night before, so we did really appreciate these.
We showed them the card that brought us to Greenest in the first place, the one with the weird gold harp on the back. Escobert recognized the symbol and said it represents an organization called The Harpers. They mettle, but nobody knows who they are.

As we prepared to leave Greenest, townspeople started approaching us with gifts. I’m sure we were all humbled by their generosity.

  • Someone gave T-Bone a Dagger of Returning, a throwing dagger that always returns back to the wielder.
  • Someone else gave us a Driftglobe. It’s a light that floats about 5ft above the ground. It’ll stay within 60ft of its owner, plus the color can be changed too! Once every 24-hour period, it can cast daylight.
  • The last person we talked to before leaving was a wounded man named Nesim, He begged us to find his master, Leosin. Leosin is a monk who vanished during the battle the night before. He might be captured, but Nesim admitted it was possible that he’d allowed himself to be captured in order to spy on the cultists. We promised to keep an eye out for him.

❧ Following the cult southward

We came across a small camp of 4 humans and 8 kobolds. T-Bone used his sneaky sneak skills to steal the humans’ weapons. They shouldn’t have left them unattended! We attacked and captured one of the humans, who was an acolyte named Jonathan. We started questioning him right away. Here’s what we learned:

  • His, now-dead, friends were named Tim, Tom, and Jerry.
  • As far as he knew, Mondath is in charge of the cult.
  • The Cultist Queen is the Dragon Queen and Mondath is the only one who can find her.
  • He didn’t know the cult’s next target and couldn’t count high enough to give us an idea of the size of the cult.
  • He was originally recruited from a tavern.
  • In the entire cult, there are only 2 Dragonborn, the blue one (Cyanwrath) and a black one. They’re the lieutenants.
  • The cult members all have to make it to camp by sunset.
  • Lastly, he told us that there was an ambush set up along the road.

While we were trying to decide Jonathan’s fate, Lhel took matters into his own hands and killed the guy. We took a minute to loot the camp and bodies. We found 100sp and a bag of valuables that went into our bag of holding, More interesting though, we found a headband with 5 gems in it.
